Connor Williams, Offensive Tackle, Texas
6’6, 288 Lbs, Junior, Bench Press 420 Lbs

Coppell Texas has slowly become a powerhouse for not just college talent, but future NFL stars. Solomon Thomas just got taken with the #3 overall pick in last years draft, and this year another fellow Coppell Cowboy looks to become a top 10 NFL draft pick. Connor Williams shows you just exactly what hard work can get you in life, as this 3 star offensive tackle is now an All-American left tackle at one of the best football schools in the country, and possibly the best tackle prospect I have seen in years. Playing for Coppell, I got to watch him very often in high school, and was honestly very surprised to see him wind up in Austin for football. 2 years later I can admit I was completely wrong about Williams as he has grown into a total stud of an offensive lineman. At Coppell High School, Williams racked up 19 D1 offers, including schools like OU, UCLA, and even Ohio State. He started as a true freshman for a young Longhorns team, and was named to the 247Sports Freshman All-American team in 2015. Showing even more improvement as a sophomore, Williams dominated Big-12 defenses, and became a consensus All-American while helping future NFL draft 2nd rounder D’Onta Foreman rush for over 2,000 yards and 15 touchdowns in 2016.
Connor Williams is a mauler, and doesn’t consider his block finished until the defender is on the ground flattened. As you can guess by Foreman’s 2,000 yard season, Williams is an elite run blocker that drives defenders until the whistle tells him to stop. Getting to the second level is a hobby for WIlliams, and searches for people to block along the defensive front. His explosion off the ball is so fast, he can over shoot his defender but really is his only "flaw" in run blocking. Though weaker in pass protection, Connor sets his feet and rarely is pushed out of his position and always maintains his side of the pocket. He will have to work on fighting a pass rush, especially at the NFL level, and work his feet better in pass protection.
Possible Landing Spots: Top 14 Pick
Indianapolis Colts - Andrew Luck needs help on the offensive line, and a cornerstone left tackle would completely change their offense. Connor Williams will open up a running attack, while keeping Luck healthy.
Los Angeles Rams - Todd Gurley is desperately in need of run blocking, that's no secret. Williams could not just help Goff have some actual blocking for once in his career (including college), but provide holes for Gurley to move through.
Cincinnati Bengals - The Bengals offensive line is pretty much dismantled at this point of the season, and his no question the biggest hole on the team. Give Joe Mixon a guy like Williams to follow, and things could be ugly for NFL defenses trying to guard John Ross, A.J Green, and Joe Mixon.
