Christian Kirk, Wide Receiver, Texas A&M
5’11, 200 Lbs, Junior, 4.39 40 Yard

Christian Kirk, or as some down in College Station like to call him, Captain Kirk is one of the most dynamic athletes in college football this season. Kirk combines speed, agility, elusiveness, and pure instinct to make up a true baller of an athlete. Coming out of Arizona as Christian was the number one recruit in the state, the 5th best wide receiver in the country, and a 5 star receiver. With all those accolades, it makes sense that Kirk was Mr. Offense in high school. In his three years as a starter in high school he had nearly 4,000 receiving yards on 203 catches, 2,700 rushing yards and a total of 94 touchdowns. His freshman year he made an instant impact with 80 catches and just over 1,000 yards (1,009) with 7 touchdowns. A&M went 8-4, getting to the Franklin American Mortgage Music City Bowl against Louisville where Kirk caught 10 passes for 84 yards and a touchdown in the losing effort. Following up with his amazing freshman season, Kirk snagged 83 catches for 928 yards and 9 touchdowns as a sophomore helping the Aggies to an Advocare V100 Texas Bowl birth. If that wasn’t enough work for the young man, through his two seasons as an Aggie he has returned 623 yards and added 5 more touchdowns (longest was for 93 yards).
While watching Christian play, I see the play making ability of former SEC receiver, Odell Beckham Jr. OBJ not only made plays as a receiver, but in his punt/kick returning ability. In the open field Kirk’s ball carrier vision is off the charts, and can see right where to direct his blocks for big gains. Whenever he is running his routes that aren’t just verticals, they can get a little sloppy, but never has a problem creating separation against defensive backs. Kirk’s burst of speed once he gets the ball in his hands is normally enough for him to evade defenders, but obviously you need more than that at the next level. Christian Kirk is going to be special in the NFL, and could very well hear his name called within the top 8 picks if he improves his minor flaws.
Possible Landing Spots: Top 8 pick
Arizona Cardinals - David Johnson and Christian Kirk on the same offense? Good luck NFL defenses, and hello offensive numbers for Arizona. Bruce Arians has openly said it is a toss up at receiver after Fitzgerald so Kirk could help clear the dust at the position.
Cleveland Browns - The Browns drafted best player available last year, and could easily continue this year by drafting Kirk. Receiver is still a pretty big question mark on their offense, and Kirk would give Kizer a special kind of target.
Los Angeles Rams - Tavon Austin hasn’t worked out for the Rams so far, and don't have much talent behind him to begin with. Kirk provides the same skill set Austin has, but has a lot more to offer as well.
