Josh Rosen, Quarterback, UCLA

6’4, 218 Lbs, Junior 5.03 40 Yard

Coming out the 2015 high school class, Josh Rosen was one of next franchise quarterbacks in the making. 247Sports.com rated Josh Rosen as their number one overall pro style quarterback and 12th overall in the country. Rosen played for St, John Brisco High School and finished his career with just under 8,500 passing yards and 90 passing touchdowns over 3 season as the starter. He was a freshman All American and the Pac-12’s OFOY in 2015, and threw for nearly 3,700 yards and had a 23/11 touchdown/interception ratio. In 2016 Rosen was leading a suspect 3-3 UCLA team before he suffered a season ending shoulder injury against Arizona State. Shortly after he had surgery to fix soft tissue damage in his throwing shoulder. Rosen finished the season starting 6 games which got him just over 1,900 yards passing (319/per game) and a 10/5 touchdown to interception ratio. This leaves a lot of questions about this highly coveted quarterback, and this upcoming season could earn or cost him millions. Many people also question his attitude off the field, being compared to Johnny Manziel by many. There has even been reports that his own teammates do not like him, and NFL teams are already worried about his social media use. Unlike Manziel, Rosen still maintains to stay away from trouble and out of negative headlines, which is really all you can ask for from a 20 year old kid in California.

Josh Rosen has the most online tape of any quarterback in this class, which means more things to pick at as well. He makes the right reads as a college quarterback, but can get in the habit of staring down his receivers. The UCLA offense is a very fast pace offense, which is probably the biggest reason for this. He looks good dropping back from under center, but was banged up last season making shotgun a lot easier to keep him upright. Rosen really carries a lackluster team UCLA on his back, which can cause him to chase a big play and try to do too much. Hopefully throughout the season you can see the mental side of the game start to click more for Rosen

Possible Landing Spots: Top 20

Arizona Cardinals - With the Cardinals missing out on a quarterback last year, the Cardinals are running out of time to replace Carson Palmer.

New York Jets - Like I said before, in New York your franchise quarterback has to handle the pressure of New York. Josh Rosen has been the number one guy almost all his life, and I feel like that readied him for a place like New York.

Denver Broncos - Josh Rosen could help save the Broncos problems by assuring the team with a true starting quarterback. The defense allows Rosen to just simply go out and play so football until he gets used to the NFL speed.
