Mason Rudolph, Quarterback, Oklahoma State
6’5, 230 Lbs, Senior, 4.77 40 Yard

Mason Rudolph is going on to his 3rd season as Oklahoma State’s starting quarterback, and looking to become the top quarterback in this class. Coming out of high school Rudolph was just the 16th best pro-style quarterback, even though he threw for nearly 4,400 yards and a mind blowing 64 passing touchdowns in 2013. He would see 3 starts as a freshman but took full control in 2015. That season the sophomore gunslinger threw for just under 3,800 yards and 21 touchdowns. He finished the season at 10-3 but lost to Ole Miss in the Sugar Bowl. Last season Rudolph shredded the Big 12 for over 4,000 passing yards and a beautiful 28/4 touchdown to interception ratio. Again finishing at 10-3, but this time with an Alamo Bowl victory. The Big-12 is known for having no defense but those kind of numbers are still nothing to laugh at.
I love when quarterbacks stay as long as they can in college to develop for the NFL. I believe wisdom is one of the most under valued concepts in football, and soaking in an extra year always seems like a plus to me. You can see how calm he is under 3rd and 4th down situations and in clutch time of the game. Watching his tape, there is multiple times when he just slings the ball out 50 yards with ease, Rudolph has a rocket of an arm, and even though you want a strong arm quarterback, it is just as important to time your passes correctly. He has tendencies to get lazy with his form thus causing him to overthrow his targets. Also another red flag is his receiver, James Washington. Many people believe Washington to be a top 15-20 selection as well in the 2018 draft. Could this be another Manziel/Evans situation?? I personally don't think so but it is something to definitely consider.
Possible Landing Spots: 1st Round
New Orleans Saints - Drew Brees is only getting older, and Mason Rudolph is a quarterback prospect that could slide down into the middle of the 1st round. Rudolph could use a year behind Brees to learn a NFL system.
Arizona Cardinals - Arizona wanted to get a quarterback this year, but had none left to pick from at the 13th selection. The Cardinals MUST select a quarterback for the future to stay relevant.
Buffalo Bills - Next year the Bills have two 1st round picks, and with one of those picks Buffalo could select their new quarterback of the future.
* Pittsburgh Steelers* - The Steelers will most likely have a very late first round pick, but are in need of a successor to Big Ben. If Rudolph drops, I can't see him getting past the Steelers.
