We didn’t get a change up in the top 5 this week, the first change we see is Jamal Adams switching into my #1 overall safety, thus jumping him up from the 19th pick, to the 7th pick overall. This seems like a major jump, and it is, but it is due to the fact not many teams are willing to use their first round picks on safeties. Next would be my biggest drop in this weeks update, Jalen Tabor. Once comparing the film between the other corners in this class, I was very disappointed in his ability to at least try and tackle a defender. I respect and love his coverage ability, and his playmaking skills, but he shies away from making a decent tackle. He has the frame to build some size, and that might make tackling easier for him, but compared to the likes of Sidney Jones, and Desmond King; he needs to get more aggressive at the position. With his most recent reports coming out, I have Tim Williams dropping out of the first round. After Randy Gregory’s performance this year in the NFL, I find it very hard for a team to use a 1st round pick on him. Jabrill Peppers has fallen 10 spots to the Denver Broncos, where I think he fits perfectly. The Broncos are currently in look for new safeties after losing Rahim Moore, and having T.J Ward gaining another year under his belt.
Sidney Jones has skyrocketed to my number overall corner for this class, he has a wide range of coverage, and like I said before, he goes and searches for tackles. He is a hard hitting corner, that can cover all parts of the field. Solomon Thomas keeps raising and raising among draft boards, and for good reason. I love seeing how successful Solomon is becoming because we went to the same high school, and I know that he is a top 10 talent. I think the only reason he should have stayed another year was just to not be in this deep of a draft. Personally I see a top 5 talent in Thomas that will slip to the top 15 due to how deep this draft is. Sneaking into the first round is linebacker Jarrad Davis and defensive lineman, DeMarcus Walker. The Patriots and Steelers both find players that fit their franchise perfectly. Jarrad Davis is one of the purist linebackers in this class, and provides a potentially scary linebacker core with Shazier. DeMarcus Walker is a natural born leader, and is 110% every play, which is the Patriots way down to T.
